The NDC-5 is more than just a NMEA 0183 combiner/multiplexer; it provides the installer with a very flexible platform that can be used to solve many NMEA 0183 interconnectivity issues.
Powerful routing allows any input to be routed to any what output, combining the data if necessary. Advanced features enable data rate conversion, automatic switching, and advanced phrase-based routing and blocking.
The configuration tool is accessible through any popular web browser using the Ethernet port, which supports direct and network connections. State-of-the-art isolation is provided as standard on all inputs and outputs so connected devices safely avoid dangerous ground loops, the leading cause of product failure in NMEA 018 networks3. This makes the NDC-5 robust enough to handle any NMEA 0183 installation.
Plug-in connectors allow new devices to be easily installed without needing to remove the NDC-5 from its mount .counting location. An optional professional DIN rail mounting mechanism keeps the NDC-5 secure in high vibration environments.
