Airmax Algae Defense Pond Algae Treatment is a broad-spectrum algaecide that works fast. Formulated for fast-acting results, Algae Defense can be applied directly to troublesome algae and chara to treat both floating and bottom-forming algae. Algae Defense carries no water use restrictions making it great for freshwater lakes, potable water reservoirs, and game fish ponds water treated with Algae Defense may be used immediately for recreational activities, drinking and irrigation. This pond algae treatment works best when water temperatures reach at least 60 degrees F and are not for use in ponds or lakes with koi or goldfish. Unless steps are taken to reduce the overall nutrients in the pond, multiple applications may be needed for a full season of control. Mix the desired amount of Algae Defense and pond water in accordance with label directions. Using a pressurized sprayer, apply the Algae Defense mixture directly onto the target algae. Over time, treated algae will begin to brown and die. Once it is completely dead, rake the dead algae away to prevent an accumulation of plant decay and pond muck. for best results, use Treatment Booster PLUS. Treatment Booster PLUS is designed to maximize weeds/algae treatments by helping to spread and bond the treatment to its target weed/algae. Algae Defense should be applied to target algae while it is active and growing. The active ingredients in Algae Defense will be absorbed by the plant, killing it entirely
We recommend treating up to half of the pond's surface at any time, waiting 10 to 14 days before treating the second half. In hot weather or when fish are stressed, treat 1/4 to 1/3 of the pond at a time. for deeper water, place the tank sprayer's tip beneath the water's surface.
Algae Defense should be applied when water temperature is at or above 60 degrees F
Do not use in ponds with trout, unless carbonate hardness is above 50ppm
