The BCA1550 series battery charger provides up to 1,000 watts of charging power one or two-bank battery system at 12, 24, 32, 36, 48 or 72 (Rail) VDC from an 85 to 264 VAC source.
Chargers (BCA) and BCA1550 series power supplies (PWS) are designed to power a DC load or charge a battery at 12, 24, 32, 36, 48 or 72 (Rail) VDC. The 1550 family provides up to 1,500 watts of precision power (the 1050 family provides up to 1,000 watts). The 1550 and 1050 families are identical to their previous models (1505 and 1005, respectively) in form, fit, and direct replacement function.
Internally, the newly updated design incorporates a power factor. Input stage corrected (PFC) allows the charger to operate continuously from 85 to 264 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz with a power factor of 0.99 or better from 10% to 100% charge. Extensive input and output filtering reduces EMI to extremely low levels to avoid interference with nearby sensitive electronic devices. These units are constructed from a sturdy extruded aluminum chassis and vented aluminum front and rear panels with thermostatically controlled cooling fans and all stainless steel fixings for rugged use. Reliability features include LED status indicators, input circuit breaker, thermal shutdown, current limiting, reverse polarity connection protection, and output short circuit shutdown with automatic recovery.
