The Beckson screw-on deck plate has been designed to allow access without the use of tools, with a single start without blocking (no cross-threading), extra strong, self-cleaning counter wire. They incorporate a self-aligning center and an innovative seal to ensure a perfect seal. A backup seal wall leaves the plate watertight, even if the gasket is removed. Deck plates are used to access shut-off valves or aft fittings, for inspection and cleaning of tanks and compartments. A screw-off plate should be used in compartments where a change in air pressure due to temperature or oil formation may occur.
