The precision cast stainless steel gimbal cup withstands all the punishment heavy equipment can dish out. The white vinyl liner protects the rods and is keyed to the rod holder tube to eliminate liner twisting. The clutch may require occasional adjustment, so the swing rod holders should be installed in a location where there will be functional access to the adjustment nut located on the bottom of the rod holder. When trolling at high speed, Smith's swivel rod holders prevent costly wear and tear on the main line by allowing the rod tip to follow the line where it trails behind the boat.
