"Captain Hook" chain damper Large damping hook for 3/8" and 1/2" chains with 15' of 3-strand 5/8" nylon

The "Captain Hook" chain dampener can be used in a variety of ways:

Use the claw and attached line to relieve tension on your windlass when it is anchored by bringing the chain overboard and attaching the line to a Samson cleat or post on deck
Use the shock absorber on deck for added security to keep the chain in your davit anchor and attach it to a cleat while underway for added peace of mind
Relieve tension on the windlass (as in 1) by attaching the shock absorber to the chain in the roller, securing it pulling back and tying it securely

All versions T-316 stainless steel with 3 strand nylon. The line includes a professional eye splice.

Note: Always keep the exbitter end of the anchor chain securely in the windlass when using the chain damper.

Use the shock absorber on deck for added security to hold the chain in your roller and attach it to a cleat along the way for added peace of mind
Relieve the tension on the windlass (as in 1) by tying the Dampen the chain into the anchor roller, then pull it back and tie it securely.

All T-316 stainless steel. The 3-strand nylon line version includes a professional eye splice.

Note: Always keep the bitter end of the anchor chain secure in the windlass while using the chain damper.
