The Cardinal Stairway Special Safety Pet Gate is a maximum safety gate for pets. As its name indicates, this pet gate is designed for top-of-stairway use but is great for the bottom of the stairs or any indoor area. It features a latch that allows one-handed operation. The pet gate for stairs can swing open in either direction. A stop bracket (optional to use but included) prevents the swinging pet gate from opening out over the stairs for greater safety. The Stairway Special Safety Gate will mount at angles up to 30 degrees allowing the location of a stud when mounting on drywall. Temporary removal of the Stairway Special Safety Gate is fast and easy, without having to unscrew the wall-mounted hardware.- The aluminum construction is lighter in weight than steel and virtually rust proof
