ComNav 1001FC Autopilot with Fluxgate CompassThe ComNav 1001 Autopilot is designed to operate on a wide variety of boats, from small pleasure craft to massive workboats. A self-compensating Fluxgate compass is included with the driver, and for those requiring the greatest steering precision, an optional rate gyroscope is available. The Autopilot 1001 is capable of use with most types of steering system and is particularly useful when there is a need to retrofit an older system. Using one of several available drive units (sold separately), the 1001 can be used with mechanical, hydraulic, or constant-running (solenoid) steering systems. Since their introduction in 1982, ComNav autopilots have earned a reputation for optimal performance and reliability, even in the harshest sea conditions.in terms of diagnostics, self-test, visual and audible alarms, as well as an extended three-year warranty, make the 1001 one of the most reliable autopilots on the market today.
