Like a hitch pin and clip, a hitch lock is designed to insert into the mounting hole in the side of a receiver tube to hold a ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory in place . While a CURT hitch pin provides sufficient strength to keep a ball mount firmly attached, a CURT hitch lock goes even further.

CURT hitch locks allow users to lock the ball mount into the trailer hitch, deterring theft. and prevent anyone from detaching a trailer from the ball mount and towing it off the property without permission. This CURT hitch lock features a dumbbell design and comes with a 5/8" pin diameter tofit 2" receiver tube size (usable pin length is 2.850"; will not work with double wall receiver tubes). CURT hitch locks consist of a pin with two ends and a round locking mechanism. This hitch lock is operated by a key and activated with a simple 1/4 turn. Additionally, the hitch lock comes with a waterproof dust cap to keep the elements out and prevent corrosion.

For ultimate towing security, a hitch lock and hitch lock used together will provide security for both the vehicle side and the trailer side of the towing setup. For a boat, ATV or RV, keep toys more secure with CURT hitch locks.
