All Vantage Pro2 stations come with the AeroCone. Unfortunately, the heater does not fit in the AeroCone. This kit includes the heater and the larger old style cone to replace the AeroCone for frigid winters that bring snow and ice.
Prevent snow from filling your Vantage Pro2 rain collector with this heating. Ideal for use in cold climates to measure freezing rain or moisture content of snowfall.
The heater warms the inside of the cone in cold weather. A thermostatic switch turns the power off when the temperature rises and turns it back on when it baisse.
Note: The heater must be plugged into an electrical outlet. The heater is not compatible with AeroCone; it is only compatible with the old style, larger rain cones.
Specifications:
- Capable of melting snow liquid at a rate of 1/4" (6 mm) of liquid precipitation per hour
- Only heats the interior of the rain collector and the cone itself
- The on/off switch allows you to turn the heater on when freezing conditions are anticipated and turn it off when the weather warms up
- When on, the The thermostat switch turns off power if the temperature reaches 110°F (43°C) and turns it back on when the temperature drops to approximately 85°F (30°C)
