Standard Radiation Shield

The passive radiation shield protects temperature sensors from solar radiation and radiated or reflected heat sources.

Standard radiation shield features:

A temperature probe placed indirect sunlight, or when exposed to a radiant heat source such as a building or concrete, will not provide accurate air temperature readings
This radiation shield is the most efficient passive shield available
Multi-plate construction for maximum airflow
Can be mounted to a metal pipe or wooden surface
Use with a wireless temperature station or leaf and soil humidity/temperature station and all temperature sensors used to measure air temperature

UV Sensor:

The Davis Instruments UV Index Sensor measures the sun's burning part of the UV spectrum. It measures overall solar UV irradiation: the sum of the components of solar UV transmitted directly and those diffused in the atmosphere. It shows the UV index, dose rate and daily and cumulative doses of UV light. This sensor is excellentslow complement to the Vantage Pro2 weather station.

UV Sensor Features:

Measures the sunburned portion of the UV spectrum. Allows you to display the UV index, dose rate and daily and accumulated dose.
The diffuser offers excellent cosine response
Measures overall solar UV irradiation, which includes both directly transmitted and scattered UV.
The transducer responds only to radiation in the region of interest and is stable in the presence of heat and humidity
Ring cutoff with comb structure for a cosine response of ±4% FS
Two-piece housing minimizes radiant heating, allows convection cooling of the sensor and prevents splashing of water or dust

Measures solar radiation for evapotranspiration (ET) andtemperature/humidity/Sun/Wind Index (THSW)
The diffuser element and housing are carefully designed for precise cosine response
The silicon photodiode provides good spectrum matching solar
