The NMEA to USB adapter works on PC, Mac and Linux computers. It converts NMEA 0183 data, used by many marine systems, into a USB format that can be plugged into most modern computers. The adapter is a bidirectional device. Therefore, data can be sent to and from the systems and supports traditional 4800 baud data or the faster 38400 baud rate used by AIS systems. The USB to NMEA serial adapter cable is a simple and efficient for connecting NMEA 0183 compatible marine equipment to a PC.
