The infrared (IR) thermal camera provides nighttime images, even in complete darkness, based on temperature differences. The thermal camera provides a clear video image even in completely dark conditions because it is sensitive to thermal infrared energy. The infrared camera supports continuous zoom up to 4X. All M series models include a mechanical stabilization function that improves image stability. The stabilization feature compensates for vessel movement and improves the usefulness of the camera's video output when operating in rough seas or swell conditions. The JCU is your primary method of controlling the camera. The JCU is used to power the camera or put it into sleep state, to operate the pan (rotate) and tilt movement of the camera, to zoom the IR camera (and on dual payload models, the color camera visible), and to conEnter camera settings using on-screen menus. The JCU connects to the camera using an Ethernet network connection, and that same connection powers the JCU.
