For more than three decades, the much lighter Fortress anchor has outperformed significantly heavier steel anchors in holding power tests conducted around the world. In US Navy testing, not only did the Fortress outperform heavier steel anchors, but it was also able to withstand tensile loads averaging more than 200 times their own weight. Fortress anchors are constructed using a high-strength, corrosion-resistant aluminum and magnesium alloy. This results in a lighter, easier to handle anchor with greater holding power. The anchors have been designed to be easily disassembled for compact storage, or as a spare and storm anchor. All Fortress anchors are precision machined for sharpness and rapid penetration into common seabeds, ensuring faster setting performance.
