State-of-the-art signal processing and UHD™ digital radar technology!

The FR8005 series 12.1" color radar features advanced signal processing, which makes it easier to identify targets in heavy rain and poor visibility. The FR8005 radar can distinguish rain from reflections of surface, thus providing the ability to find and track the movement of rain clouds as well as remove unnecessary echoes. To track the movement of other vessels at sea, "True Motion Trails" can be displayed as well as tracking. AIS/TT target display with a zoom display function When the vessel is moving, the radar echoes move smoothly on the main screen using "True View Mode".

Even in rain or extreme weather conditions, echoesradar are clearly displayed and unnecessary echoes can be removed instantly and easily. Compared with current radars (FR8002 series), the technology to eliminate noise from sea, rain and snow has been significantly improved using FURUNO's cutting-edge knowledge of digital signal processing. When using Target mode, nearby ships and ships on intersecting routes are automatically zoomed in. These targets will remain displayed as long as they cause problems. Target tracks are also displayed, allowing the user to easily determine the movements of individual vessels.

True Trail Mode

When When using True Trail mode, moving objects will appear on the main screen with a colored trail. These trails allow you to see the movement of nearby ships at a glance.

MoTrue View

Radar echoes move smoothly on the main display thanks to "True View Mode". True View mode is based on heads-up mode. When scanning radar, the echoes move depending on the heading of your vessel. Since the echoes move in real time, the gap between an observed target and what is displayed on the radar screen is significantly reduced.

Full screen mode and off-center mode

Use the entire display area with Full Screen Mode, giving you more information when making important decisions. By combining full-screen mode with off-center mode, any target or point of interest can be observed in detail. Overlay information can be turned off to observe text-obstructed targets and provide a clear radar view.

Target Tracking and AIS Display

The Target Tracking (TT) function continuously tracks and provides informationPosition ions for up to ten targets. A FR8005 series radar equipped with an AIS device can track the target's heading, name, speed and direction. With AIS it is possible to identify and track the movement of other vessels in dense fog, at night or in difficult conditions. Another advantage is that with AIS you can identify hidden targets that radar signals cannot reach, giving you more time to act. AIS can display up to 100 targets simultaneously, TT can display up to 10 different targets simultaneously.
