The concept:

The THT-530 allows the installation of standard GROCO through-hole fittings by a single installer. Slide the thru-hull fitting, flanged end first, onto the tool. (It will stop at the right time.) Tie a length of monofilament to the eye and place it in the hole already cut in the hull of the boat. Apply caulk to the flange of the fitting and pull the fitting through the hole and against the hull from inside the boat. Thread the monofilament through the lock nut or strainer. With the fitting pulled firmly against the hull, the locknut or strainer can be screwed onto the fitting.
