The M400BB only includes a black box main body and a supplied COMMANDMIC HM195 remote control microphone accessory. The two-piece radio assembly can easily be installed behind a wall or console, leaving a small or hidden footprint, and controlled entirely remotely.

Although compact in size, the M400BB has the same rugged functionality than that found in the Icom M424 VHF fixed mount. Features include Class D DSC and the intuitive design of the COMMANDMIC softkey interface. Active noise cancellation, 10W speakerand a public address (PA) system are integrated for optimal audio performance. The M400MB is compatible with Icom's MA-500TR AIS transponder for added safety at sea.

2-part space-saving configuration
The IC-M400BB consists of of a two-part black box configuration. All function controls, including DSC operation, can be performed from the COMMANDMIC™, HM-195SW, and the RF unit, IC-M400BB, can be installed in an out-of-sight location.

Intuitive User Interface
The menu system is shared with the latest Icom models. The bottom line of the dot-matrix display shows the functions of the softkeys which can be toggled with the left and right buttons.

Active noise cancellation
The integrated two-way active system noise cancellation reduces background noise by up to 90% and improves both your transmitted voice andyour incoming calls. Hear and be heard more clearly.

10W loud audio, public addresses and fog horn
Built-in 10W amplifier boosts audio output from an external speaker additional. The public address function allows you to make an announcement from the microphone like a loudspeaker, and the fog horn can also be output from the external speaker.

Class D DSC Built-in
The built-in DSC watch function monitors Ch.70 (DSC channel) actively, even when you are receiving another channel. DSC functions include: Distress, Individual, Group, All Ships, Emergency, Safety, Position Request/Report, Poll Request and DSC Test Calls.

Common NMEA Interface
When connected to an external GPS receiver, the current position and time are displayed on the Commandmic screen. When receiving DSC information from another navire, the radio can transfer them to a navigation device via NMEA 0183 connectivity.

AIS Target Call with MA-500TR
When connected to the optional Transponder connector AIS MA-500TR Class B, AIS target call function allows you to set up an individual DSC call from the MA-500TR.
