These sensors offer a high frequency range of 150 to 250 kHz and a constant beamwidth of 25°, making them true wideband sensors. In addition to improving echosounder performance for Chirp, anglers using a single-band wide beam transducer will get twice the coverage area under the vessel compared to our current high frequency Chirp transducer. The unique feature of the high frequency transducer is that the beam width has a constant angle of 25° across the entire frequency band. Now, in addition to providing broad bottom coverage and accurate fish detection in the upper water column (sometimes not possible withec our narrow beam sensors), Airmar's new wide beam format can also be displayed more clearly on the screen, a larger return image.
