The RC12 fully automatic windlass series is designed to recover and deploy effortlessly 10mm cables. 3/8" short link chain and 16mm (5/8") to 20mm (3/4") three strand or 8 braid rope (RC12-10) and 12mm short link chain/ 13 mm (1/2 in.) and 20 mm (3/4 in.) three-strand or 8-braid rope (RC12-12).

With a maximum pull of 1,590 kg (3 500 lb) and an anchor recovery rate of 15 m/min (50 ft/min), the RC12-12 is one of the fastest and gruntiest windlasses in its class.

A sleek low profile version and a stainless steel fluted capstan drum version are available.

The RC12 is packed with innovative features combined with Maxwell's traditionally classic aesthetic, but reflecting the modern form follows the function of the successful RC6, RC8 and RC10 series windlasses.

The sleekly designed deck plate and chain tube cover are made from polished marine-grade 316 stainless steel, as are the heavy-duty pressure arms, stripper, deck, and splined capstan drum.

The huge throat of the hawse pipe passing through the deck ensures easy entry of the rope/chain in and out of the anchor locker.

The brake/clutch mechanism double cone allows free fall anchor. Cone clutches, unlike dog clutches, provide smooth progressive engagement, ensuring safe and precise operator control.
