Dwarf hamsters: Adults typically consume 5 to 7 grams of food per day (about 9 to 12 pellets). Gerbils: Adults typically consume 10 to 15 grams of food per day (about 20 to 25 pellets). Hamsters and growing gerBils: Offer free choice as a single diet. For adults, complementary foods (herbs, vegetables and seeds) can be provided but should not represent more than 20% of the diet.
