McMurdo SmartFind G8 PLUS EPIRBs benefit from an AIS location signal, visible to vessels equipped with an AIS receiver nearby, and an optical signal infrared (night vision) to facilitate detection of survivors in low light conditions. Infrared is detectable at greater range and in poorer conditions than standard EPIRB lamps, further accelerating recovery times.

This is a multi-channel satellite EPIRB. Robust 406 MHz GNSS with GPS and Galileo receivers and unique integrated AIS. optimized for the new MEOSAR system. Additionally, this EPIRB is supplied in an automatic float-less housing that deploysand is automatically activated upon contact with water (although it can also be activated manually).
