NavAlert NMEA monitoring and alarm system

NavAlert is the latest innovation from Digital Yacht and allows you to set an alarm for any parameter available on the NMEA 2000 network of the boat. This may include navigation data such as depth, heading or speed, as well as electrical data such as voltage and engine/generator data including temperature, pressure, tank levels, fuel flow, etc.

It connects anywhere. on the NMEA 2000 network and draws power from that connection, so installation is super simple. A local WiFi network is created by NavAlert, so configuration is possible via any smartphone, tablet or PC. Simply choose the parameter to monitor and set an alarm level.

Alarms/Alerts

Integrated with NavAlert, a custom alarm for water drift anchor uses an algorithm to calculatez the optimal drift radius based on depth and range of the chain for reliable notifications. There is also an anti-collision alarm based on CPA (closest point of approach) and AIS TCPA (time to closest point of approach) data from a connected AIS. These alerts can also be monitored via the wireless interface with attractive graphical displays of the current status.

Alarms can also generate an SMS message, which can be relayed via the 4GXtream Internet connectivity solution from Digital Yacht, allowing remote monitoring, which is ideal for being sure that the anchor is holding well when you have lunch on land. Alarms are independent of any alarms set on a chartplotter, allowing NavAlert to operate even without a main multifunction display being turned on (an important feature for power-limited sailboats).

Alerts can equalbe relayed to compatible multifunction devices (Garmin supports this feature) for a pop-up data window indicating an alert and the option to acknowledge it.

*NavAlert is universal, using the industry standard NMEA 2000 data, so it will integrate with all major brands and systems.

Operation

Operation is simple. Simply search for the WiFi network created by NavAlert and connect via smartphone or tablet. Open a browser and log in to NavAlert, and users are presented with a clear graphical interface allowing easy installation, configuration and viewing of alerts and network data. NavAlert continuously monitors the entire network, so alert settings can be set for any variable.

Users can configure NavAlert through its web interface ifple. Simply open a web browser, enter the IP address of the NavAlert, and users can change the network name and password, or even merge WiFi with an existing onboard WiFi network… So no software required or complicated programming application is required.
