The high gloss material

NavPods are made with custom co-extruded ABS material We use the best UV resistant material that provides a high gloss white finish that matches gel coated fiberglass. a thicker material which amimproves resistance and offers. for better structural rigidity.

The tight seal

All NaThe vPods are manufactured with a double seal system providing excellent Sealing between the front and back of the NavPod to protect your marine electronics. NavPods are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker 1 silicone outer seal with an improved flush fit. The internal EPDM gasket is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "set compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future to repair your electronic devices.

Chrome-plated nickel screws

We use all stainless steel mounting hardware that comes with every NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper socketss for the NavPod key for better holding power when tightening than previous screws. For Gen3 we provide nickel-chrome plated stainless steel tamper proof screws for added security combined with a little bling!

The manufacturing process

Large gauge thermoforming is considered an art since many processes come into play. It all starts with the design and development of tooling. We are fortunate to have experienced in-house design engineers who use CAD programs such as Solidworks, Catia and AutoCad. Surfcam is used to interface with our CNC machining centers to produce quality tools with precision tolerances.
