Structural rigidity

Gen3 improvements now include a Thicker gauge acrylic coated ABS material that improves strength and provides better structural rigidity. This thicker material allows for greater sealing. The higher the structural rigidity, the less flex there is when tightening and the more uniform the pressure on the joint. The excellent UV stability of acrylic is combined with the durability of ABS. The acrylic cap protects the ABS from UV and its potentially harmful effects on plastic. These NavPods are really strong!

Waterproof seal

All NavPods are made with a double seal system providing an excellent seal between the front and back of the NavPod. This seal offers the best protection for your marine electronics. NavPods are designed to withstand harsh conditionsions of the most difficult and wet offshore navigation. Gen3 improvements include a thicker silicone outer gasket with an improved flush fit. The Poran Microcell Polyurathane internal seal is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future in order to maintain your electronic devices. The seal will continue to do its job.

Chrome Nickel Plated Stainless Steel

The NavPod uses all 316 stainless steel hardware provided with every NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding power when tightening than the screws used on our traditional series NavPod. For NavPods Gen3, we provide tamper-proof nickel-chrome-plated stainless steel screws for added security combined with a little bling!
