RailMount NavPods are best used for mounting an autopilot control, instrument navigation device or a small chartplotter on an existing protective base. Fits any 1" or 1.25" diameter tube. A nickel-plated stainless steel arm is used to mount a NavPod. The NavPod can rotate 180 degrees for easy viewing when sitting under the Dodger on rainy days. the NavPod, in the center of the stainless steel arm and in the protection of the base. This application provides a clean, robust installation for electronics without replacing the base guard.

Structural Rigidity – Gen3 enhancements now include acrylic coated ABS materiale of thicker gauge which improves strength and provides better structural rigidity. The excellent UV stability of acrylic is combined with the durability of ABS. The acrylic cap protects the ABS from UV and its potentially damaging effects on plastic.

NavPods are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker silicone outer gasket with an improved flush fit. The internal Poron Microcell polyurethane seal is now 50% thicker and is not subject toa "compression set" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future to repair your electronic devices. The gasket will continue to do its job.

Chrome Nickel Plated Stainless Steel – We use all 316 stainless steel hardware that comes with every NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding power when tightening than the screws used on our traditional series NavPod. Tamper-proof nickel-chrome-plated stainless steel screws provide security combined with a little style!
