Duplex boat cable is used in low voltage AC applications as well as DC circuits. Pacer manufactures Duplex 14 AWG boat cables in-house in the USA for the highest quality. First, the cable is made of finely twisted Type III tinned copper conductors. These conductors allow flexibility and help prevent corrosion.
The PVC jacket allows the 14 AWG duplex boat cable to be flexible while preventing moisture from building up. How does it do that? During the extrusion process, the spaces between the wires are filled. This leaves no room for moisture or air to build up. After that, a layer of talcum powder is applied to the inner threads. This coating makes it easy to remove the outer sheath. Just another reason why Duplex 14 AWG boat cable is perfect for marine use.
