Perko's 8501 Series Battery Switches are among the most popular battery switches ever produced. Their use of the traditional Perko bolt circle allows for easy installation whether new or as a replacement. These switches can be mounted in many locations. And as ignition-protected switches, they can be installed in the engine rooms of gasoline-powered boats.

In addition to doing everything a battery switch does, ignition selectors battery allows you to select the battery (from two or more batteries). for specific purposes including starting engines, operating accessories, or even recharging. They allow the use of one or more batteries in systems with one or more motors and facilitate paralleling of batteries for emergency starting whenOne or both batteries are substantially discharged.

Perko battery disconnect switches are designed for surface mounting. . Standard service switches have a bright red polycarbonate housing for added safety with a large, easy-to-turn black knob. The housing of the robust switches is made of red fiber reinforced polycarbonate. The selectors are designed with a "do before cut" feature. This allows switching between positions "1", "ALL" and "2" while the engine is running. Models with an "Alternator Field Disconnect" feature provide protection to non-unified alternators if the switch is accidentally turned to the "OFF" position with the engine running.

Versions of the 8501 series switches offer additional features such as alternator disconnection and key lock security.

The 90° rotation function allows userss to feel the position of the switches in no-light situations and the classic shape of the knob makes it easy to turn.

The high conductivity studs are long enough to handle more than one cable and strong enough to the torque needed for secure connections. An optional spacer ring (PN 0462DP0RED) allows the use of larger cables.
