Do not mix more than can be consumed in 24 hours. Do not use a blender to mix. Puppies who are standing and licking a bowl can be introduced to Esbilac 2nd Step. Start by offering it in the form of a fine porridge. Determine the amount of Esbilac 2nd Step Powder to give the puppy at each feeding using the feeding guidelines. Reconstitute itpowder using 3 parts (one part is any measuring device, i.e. teaspoon, tablespoon, or cup) liquid Esbilac or water to 1 part powder during the first days. Only offer small amounts and remove the uneaten portion after 20 minutes maximum. Puppies should be fed three times a day. WeightIt gives birth to puppies at least once a week to monitor weight gain and adequacy of nutrition. As the puppies grow, decrease the amount of water mixed with the powder until the weaning food has the consistency of oats. FEEDING METHOD: Esbilac 2nd Stage should be washed in a bowl and not bottle-fed. Esbilac 2nd Stage has been formulated to meet the nutritional needs of young puppies weaned from their mother or bottle-fed puppies progressing to solid foods. For best results, the product should be mixed with Esbilready-to-use liquid ac or with Esbilac reconstituted powder to give the consistency necessary for good food consumption. If Esbilac is not available, water can be used. Fresh, clean water should always be available for drinking. It is recommended to feed Esbilac Stage 2 until puppies reach 7 or 8 weeks of age, at which time they can be fed commercial puppy or dog food as desired. All diet changes should be made gradually over a period of one week.
