Pirtle Nursery 1.5 gal Brightwell Blueberry #2 Shrub in Pot Fruit Trees & Plants Edible Plants
The Pirtle Nursery Brightwell Blueberry shrub #2 (1.5 gal.) produces an abundance of large, blue-black fruits with excellent flavor over a long season. As one of the rabbiteye varieties they are perfect for eating fresh, cooking or freezing. These small shrubs look lovely in landscapes, with leaves that turn bright red in fall. The Brightwell Blueberry requires organic, acid (sour) soil. Typically produces ripe fruit quickly, with ripe berries two months after you notice the flowers on branches. It features dainty clusters of pink bell-shaped flowers with shell pink overtones hanging below the branches in mid spring, which emerge from distinctive red flower buds.- Includes one Brightwell Blueberry #2 Shrub in a 1.5 gal. pot and detailed planting instructions.
- Shrubs mature in early summer.
- Most rabbiteye blueberries require cross pollination for maximum fruit set, therefore, plant at least two cultivars to ensure the best fruit is produced.
- Blueberries attract wildlife, so plant plenty to share or simply place netting over shrubs to help protect the delicious berries from disappearing.
- Brightwell Blueberry shrub best grown in USDA Hardiness Zones 7-9.
- Space 5-8 feet apart when planting. Water 2-3 times a week.
- Mature height will be 6-10 feet tall with mature width of 6-8 feet.
