Structural Rigidity

Gen3 improvements now include a thicker gauge of acrylic-coated ABS material that improves strength and provides better structural rigidity. This thicker material allows for a greater tight seal. The higher the structural rigidity, the less flexing when tightening and the more uniform the pressure on the joint. UV of acrylic is combined with the durability of ABS. The acrylic cap protects the ABS from UV and its potential damage to the plastic.

All SystemPods are made with a systemdouble seal, providing excellent sealing. This seal provides the best protection for. your marine electronics are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include a thicker external silicone g.Asket with an improved flush fit. The internal Poron Microcell polyurethane gasket is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the SystemPod in the future in order to repair your electronic devices. The seal will continue to do its job.

Chrome Nickel Plated Stainless Steel

The NavPod uses all 316 stainless steel hardware that comes with every NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod key for better holding power when tightening than the screws used on the NavTraditional series pod. For the Gen3 NavPods, they provide nickel-plated stainless steel tamper-resistant screws for added security and a bit of style!
