As for any rubber hose under the line flotation, the PSS bellows should be inspected regularly for any signs of wear, aging or chemical deterioration.
The PSS bellows must be replaced every six years. When replacing the bellows, it is recommended to also replace the stainless steel rotor O-rings and adjustment screws.

The bellows may need to be inspected more frequently in an environment where there is no Sealed batteries emit sulfuric acid. Sulfuric acid vapors will accelerate rubber deterioration, as will an ozonator.
