The Raymarine AIS700 is a Class B Automatic Identification System (AIS) transceiver designed for use with Raymarine multifunction navigation display systems .  AIS is an international maritime navigation safety system that allows participating vessels to silently exchange key navigation information, including vessel name, identificationtification, its heading, its speed, etc.  AIS contacts can be displayed on Raymarine multifunction displays, chartplotters, radar displays and some instruments.  As a Class B AIS transceiver, the AIS700 not only receives broadcasts from other vessels, but it also transmits your own boat's information, helping you to be seen on other vessels' systems as well. /p>


The AIS700 is designed using the latest SO-TDMA (Self Organized Time Division Multiple Access Networking Technology) which allows it to operate faster and at longer ranges. longer than speed d compared to previous generation AIS products.  For ease of installation, the AIS700 has a built-in VHF band antenna splitter that allows it to share a single antenna with your current VHF radio.  The AIS700 also has its own internal GPS receiver dedicated to 72channels with external antenna, as required by international standards.  


The AIS700 also supports hardware and software silent mode.  This allows you to temporarily restrict the broadcast of your vessel's data, while still receiving updates from surrounding traffic.  Silent mode can be especially useful when transiting waters where increased safety is a concern, or even in competitive tournament scenarios where you may want to prevent others from discovering the location of the hot bite.  Normal AIS safety broadcasts can be easily restored by simply pressing the AIS controls on your marine Ray.MFD, or by simply flicking a switch for silent hardware systems.
