How Doppler radar works:
- Microwave energy waves bounce off a distant target, just like conventional radar.
- Moving targets return echoes whose frequencies shift up or down from what was initially transmitted.
- For incoming targets, the frequency increases as the edge increases. Attack return echoes are received more frequently as target range decreases.
