Constrictor textile rope clutch - 12 mm single rope

Unlike all conventional clutches, the Constrictor system does not crush the rope between two metal surfaces. Instead, the loaded rope is held securely in a textile sock, which in turn is attached to an anchor base. The rope passes freely through the sock in one direction, but is instantly caught in the sock as it extends in the opposite direction. This constrictor effect provides increasing holding power as the load increases.

Stronger:
The standard Constrictor range offers 2 times the holding power of clutches at conventional cables, and custom solutions are available with holding power up to the rope's breaking load!

Lighter:
At least 3 times lighter than conventional cable clutches.

No Abrasion or breakage:
The unique textile sock closes like an octopus on the line, providing efficient load distribution and exceptional grip; the result of much less clumpy, more responsive fiber-to-fiber contact than traditional metal cams.

Safely release under load:
Line can be released quickly and easily under load without the need for a winch, simply by pulling the control tether. . This can be an important safety factor in situations where immediate release is required.

Remote Release System:
The Constrictor Control Lanyard can be extended to enable remote release, making it ideal for applications such as masthead mounted halyards to eliminate mast compression loads and halyard creep.
