The A2004 is an autopilot controller designed to meet the needs of professional mariners aboard a variety of commercial vessels. It features a proven Simrad interface, presented on a wide-angle, fog-free color display. Designed to be responsive and easy to use, the A2004 combines a precision rotary control dial with dedicated buttons for instant access to steering modes, a custom configurable work mode and automated turning patterns.

The A2004 builds on the proven user interface and keyboard layout of the Simrad AP70 and AP80 professional autopilot controllers, and provides consistency with the latest generation of Simrad radar, sonar and ECDIS displays. A large aluminum rotary control dial allows for quick but precise steering adjustmentsis, while dedicated keys provide instant access to steering modes, a bespoke configurable working mode and automated turning patterns. All integrated controls are designed to be easy to operate with wet or gloved hands, in commercial environments such as fishing boats and work boats.c.t. The A2004 also supports a wide range of Simrad autopilot remote controls and steering levers.

Each Simrad steering innovation builds on a heritage spanning more than sixty years of autopilot development , which still continues today. An ultra-wide 170-degree viewing angle means key autopilot information is clearly visible at a glance, from anywhere within view of the screen.

The A2004 allows autopilot control of a single thruster via an optional AD80 or SD80 interfacen. module. The thruster can be configured to automatically engage below a user-defined speed threshold and configured separately for normal and work modes. The A2004 also supports specialized heavy-duty rudder feedback units designed for reliable operation aboard commercial vessels.
