Solid with pulse compression technology
The Simrad Halo radar is the first semi-rigid radar The world's highest-performance drivers featuring pulse compression technology designed specifically for recreational boaters. Unlike traditional pulse radars, Halo Radar does not rely on a high-speed magnetron (vacuum tube).power to transmit. Instead, Halo Radar uses solid-state electronics and low-power, frequency-swept 25W pulsed transmission bursts to provide range and resolution similar to pulsed radar, without associated warm-up time, power consumption or electromagnetic emissions.

Range of 72 nm
Halo radar provides a maximum range comparable to traditional pulsed radiation of 6 kW.ar, up to 72 nm with the 6' open array antenna of the HALO-6 radar. It offers an unprecedented minimum range of 10M (30 ft), peering into that pulse radar blind spot where once only FMCW (3G/4G) wideband radar could operate.

Sharpening beam
Whether you are observing a flock of birds or a series of channel markers, it is essential to separate one radar target from another. Beam sharpening with beam separation controltargets provides unmatched target resolution, giving the Halo pulse compression radar's 6' open array antenna the same effective target resolution as a 6' array without beam sharpening.

Dual Range Operation
With Dual Range, Halo Radar works like two arrays in one: monitor two range ranges simultaneously with completely independent displays, controls and MARPA target tracking. Take full advantage of Halo Radar's combination of short, medium and long range performance to keep an eye on distant weather cells, while monitoring channel markers and high temperatures.h accelerate the watercraft up close. Dual range operation is available with the Simrad NSS and NSO multifunction display systems.

Target Detection
The HALO-6 radar provides excellent target detection with to its compact 6' open network.

SARPA Target Tracker
Automatically track up to 10 user-selected radar targets, displaying CPA (Closest Point of Approach) and TCPA (Time to Nearest Point of Approach). closer). Up to 20 different targets can be tracked in Dual Range mode, with 10 targets per screen. MARPA functionality requires a heading sensor and GPS.

Advanced Signal Processing
The Halo radar uses advanced signal processing for digital sidelobe reduction of the azimuth and range, thus improving the discrimination of small targets such as the channel. markers of larger adjacent targets such as ships and bridges. Additionally, Directional Sea Clutter Rejection dynamically changes scan gain to allow smaller targets to be seen downwind. Sector Blanking eliminates unwanted reflections, for less clutter on the screen.

8 modes of use with sautomatic port/offshore election
Port, offshore, weather and bird modes adjust Halo Radar's advanced signal processing to help ensure the targets you are interested in are clearly visible, even in environmental conditions the most difficult. Automatic selection of Harbor and Offshore modes configures your Halo radar to suit your environment, while a 'Custom' mode allows easy manual adjustment to suit any purpose or condition.
High Speed Mode Halo pulse compression radar provides rapid position updates, at high speed. operation up to 48 rpm (depending on mode and range). The Halo Radar's Simrad quality construction and brushless motor with advanced helical gear train design ensures exceptionally quiet operation, especially at 48 RPM.

InstantOnCo risksllision will not wait for your radar to start - why should you? Halo Radar's solid-state technology is ready instantly from sleep mode, and in just 16 to 25 seconds from power-on to full operation. Avoid the 2-3 minute warm-up time associated with traditional pulse radar and trust Halo Radar = to produce an immediate, accurate radar image when you need it.

High reliability
Halo Radar is built to last, with its solid-state transceiver, meaning no magnetrons to replace and no manual adjustments required as the magnetron heats up or ages. Likewise, a solid-state brushless motor driver means there are no motor brushes to wear out and replace. Rest assured that the Halo radar will operate at high speeds in winds up to 70 knots, year after year.

Low Emissions electromagnetic
Unlike traditional pulse radar, Halo Radar's low power pulsed transmissions meet upcoming low emissions standards. This allows the Halo radar to operate safely in anchorages and marinas, providing enhanced radar coverage at the very beginning and end of every voyage.

Low power consumption
Halo radar uses an average of 40W with no wind, and no more than 200W at maximum wind speed. Benefit from even greater power savings in standby with a power consumption of only 7 W, compared to 10/15 W for pulse radar. With its low power consumption and support for 12/24 volt DC systems, the Halo radar is ideal for small to medium sized powerboats.

Ethernet Connectivity
Halo Simrad pulse compression radar connects to any Simr multifunction display systemad NSS or NSO via Ethernet, with a bulkhead mounted interface box below deck. Antenna installation is simple and elegant, with the same thin cable and small diameter connectors as our 3G/4G broadband radars.
