NavPods have a high-gloss finish, giving you a clean mounting solution while hiding unsightly wires. Nickel-chrome-plated tamper-proof screws provide a little bling and lots of security. Designed with a double-seal waterproof seal NavPods protect your electronic devices from the harshest offshore sailing conditions. It is best to mount a SailPod on a single-curvature AngleGuard or use a double-curvature AngleGuard. to install an InstrumentPod on the upper vertical section and a SailPod below on the seinclined ction.
Structural rigidity
Gen3 improvements now include an acrylic-coated ABS material that improves strength and provides better structural rigidity. This thicker material allows for greater sealing. The higher the structural rigidity, the less flex there is when tightening and the more uniform the pressure on the joint. The excellent UV stability of acrylic is combined with the durability of ABS. The acrylic cap protects the ABS from UV and its potentially harmful effects on plastic. These NavPods are really strong!
Waterproof seal
All NavPods are made with a double seal system providing an excellent seal between the front and back of the NavPod. This seal offers the best protection for your marine electronics. NavPods are designed to withstand the harshest and wettest offshore sailing conditions. Gen3 improvements include an updateThicker silicone outer int with improved flush fit. The internal Poran Microcell polyurethane seal is now 50% thicker and is not subject to "compression" like many rubber compounds. This is important when you need to open the NavPod in the future to repair your electronic devices. The seal will continue to do its job.
Chrome Nickel Plated Stainless Steel
We use all 316 stainless steel hardware that comes with every NavPod. Large round head tamper-proof screws have deeper sockets for the NavPod wrench for better holding power when tightening than the screws used on our traditional series NavPod. For the NavPod Gen3 we provide tamper proof nickel plated chrome stainless steel screws for added security combined with a little bling!
