Channel names can be customized by the user to easily understand the usage of each channel. 10 NOAA and Canadian Weather channels are pre-programmed and easily selectable using the dedicated WX button. Additionally, it can be configured to monitor WX channels and provide an audio alert to inform of pending storm warnings. Scanning is not a problem with the HX400. The radio can be configured to scan any number of channels with or without a priority channel or can simply be configured to scan between a priority channel and another channel (dual watch).
