Weld Mount AT-8040 is a two-part, solvent-free, VOC-compliant, methacrylate-based structural adhesive formulated to bond metals intended for use in difficult environments. It will also bond thermosetting engineering plastics, composites to metals or various combinations of substrates. It exhibits excellent adhesion to metal surfaces such as aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel and plated steels. AT-8040 forms strong, high-strength bonds, typically with minimal surface preparation, developing handling strength in 12 minutes and afunctional recovery in 45 minutes. Ultimate strength exceeds 3,500 psi tensile shear strength on aluminum with remarkable impact and peel strengths. The AT-8040 will hold all workpieces to be welded on a vertical or overhead surface without sagging when properly used.
