Actisense Fast Network Block Central Connector Marine Navigation & Instruments
The Actisense Fast Network Block (QNB-1) makes basic network connections easy and trouble-free on National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) buses and networks.
The QNB -1 is a multipoint NMEA2000 backbone connection block, adhering to the barrier strip connection type detailed in the NMEA2000 specification documents. To protect the electrical connection, a fused connection is provided to the backbone network. This limits the current to the safety level for the network. Two fuses are provided, each powering two halves of the QNB-1, meaning that if the fuse blows on one half of the system, the other half can remain powered.
In the simplest configuration, The QNB-1 1 can also be used as a simple IP66 fused sealed power connection block. LED indicators show power status, detect power reversals and inindicate whether the fuses are still intact. Additionally, an indicator is provided to show the presence of data on the connected bus or network. No sofa software or configuration is required. The installation manual included with the QNB-1 provides sample connection diagrams to help the user configure their network.
The QNB-1-PMW version is equipped with six NMEA 2000 standards M12 (micro-fit) female connectors that allow "plug and play" connections for quick and easy installation. A Raymarine STNG backbone can be wired to one side of the QNB-1 to combine NMEA 2000 with STNG without the need for adapter cables.
The QNB-1 version is equipped with cable glands to allow installation of custom cable lengths. This is a great option for "mixing and matching" standard NMEA 2000 devices with Raymarine STNG devices. Both versions are equipped with LEDs that provideinformation during setup and use to indicate presence of data, power status, polarity and to show if fuses are intact.
