Actisense NGT-1 - NMEA 2000 serial connection to PC Marine Navigation & Instruments

The Actisense NGT-1 NMEA2000 to PC interface provides a simple way to connect a PC to an NMEA2000 network and accurately transfer messages to and from the NMEA2000 bus. The NGT-1 allows software applications to read and write to the NMEA2000 bus while maintaining network integrity. It allows software developers to create feature-rich software applications that can fully interact with all data in an NMEA2000 network.

NMEA Reader diagnostic software allows viewing of NMEA2000 messages with options configuration, allowing configuration of all Actisense products on the NMEA2000 bus, making it an essential NMEA2000 diagnostic tool.

NGT-1 is a more specialized option and is used as a gateway between NMEA2000 and a computer serial port when no USB port is available. It has an opto-isolated input and ISO-Drive output for bidi connectiondirect control to the PC. It can be used with certified NMEA2000 or similar chart plotter software compatible with the NGT-1, and also with NMEA Reader software. Actisense ISO-Drive technology is used in the NGT-1 to separate the output from ground.

Electrical surge protection is provided as standard on the NGT-1 input using an opto -complete galvanic isolation to provide superior protection to the PC serial port maintains complete isolation between the PC input and output and the NMEA2000 bus.

NOTE FOR THE INSTALLER:

NGT-1 units are NMEA2000 gateways. Their typical application is to interface a NMEA2000 backbone to a PC, usually for chart plotting software or PC-based vessel inspections/diagnostics. NGT-1 units are NOT designed to work directly with standard NMEA 0183 software. If an NMEA2000 to NMEA 0183 conversion is bornnecessary, the Actisense NGW-1 was designed for this operation.
