The outboard starter will fit Mercury/Mariner, 100-125 HP Inline 4-cyl; 80 HP jet, 8 tooth drive gear.

ARCO recommends using a fully charged battery. A weak battery can damage the starterand the starter solenoid. And to clean all connections as well - A corroded connection creates resistance, thereby reducing the amperage required for an efficient starting circuit.
