More and more boats are now equipped with a wireless router or using devices like our 4G Connect for connectivity Internet. For optimal data transfer speed, a wired Ethernet connection always provides the fastest and most reliable network connection onboard a boat, and for TV streaming, VOIP, security cameras and other services Data intensive, we always recommend using a wired connection.

Our NS5 network switch offers a simple and robust solution to increase the number of wired Ethernet connections on the vessel. Designed to operate from 9V to 36V DC power, with a dual-redundant power design, DIN rail mounting and five 10/100 RJ45 Ethernet ports, the NS5 lets you expand significantly reliable Ethernet network on your boat.

The installation could not besimplest, simply connect one of the NS5's RJ45 sockets to a LAN socket on our 4GConnect or 4GXtream routers, using a normal network cable and connect the NS5 directly to the boat.12V or 24V DC power supply. Our 4G router will continue to provide IP addresses to any device plugged into the NS5 (via DHCP) and you will immediately be able to see the status of all Ethernet connections thanks to the flashing yellow and green LEDs on each of the NS5 ports.
