Precise heading data from the Fluxgate compass remains a fundamental parameter for maritime navigation and the HSC100 marine compass uses Fluxgate technology to provide heading data to onboard systems. Typical applications include enabling heading and true motion displays on chartplotters, overlaying radars on electronic charts, and stabilizing radars when used for MARPA/ARPA target tracking. Integrated instrument systems can also benefit from information from a compass. Allows calculation of tide setting and drift in real time when interfaced with a log and GPS.

The ZDIGHSC100T uses a new turn rate version of the HSC100 which generates the HDT messages and ROT required by a Class A transponder. For non-obligatory vessels, this therefore provides a simple and inexpensive solution to add heading and turn rate to tClass A transponders.
