Digital Yacht ZDIGSPL1500 - SPL1500 VHF Ant Splitter for VHF/AIS Communication

An AIS receiver or transponder requires a VHF antenna. However, the new SPL1500 VHF antenna splitter from Digital Yachts allows an existing antenna to be used for both AIS and VHF (DSC). Unlike most simple splitters, the SPL1500 can also be used with an AIS Class B transponder system. It also incorporates special circuitry to ensure safe operation of both transmitting devices.

The unit has three simple connections, one input for the main VHF antenna, then outputs for the AIS receiver/transponder and another for the VHF DSC. . It uses Digital Yachts' new patented ZeroLossTM technology, to guarantee the best possible reception and transmission from all devices. More importantly, it is also fail-safe. This means that if the unit stops working or loses power, it will not affect the main operation of theVHF. Until now, Digital Yacht recommended a dedicated antenna for a receiver or transponder. However, with the new ZeroLoss technology we can now offer a solution that greatly simplifies installation while maintaining performance.

The unit is waterproof and matches the aesthetic of the current AIT1500, it can therefore easily be integrated into any vessel. It is suitable for operation on 12 V or 24 V systems. Three LEDs indicate the status of the SPL2000. LEDs indicate correct power to the unit; and also when AIS or VHF transmits.
