All Platinum Series gauges feature Faria's revolutionary anti-fog domed glass lenses. The fuel level gauge operates by sending a low amperage current through the gauge meter to ground via a variable resistance sending unit. The resistance of the sending units increases or decreases with changes. pressure, temperature, etc...

As the resistance of the emitter varies, the amount of current allowed to flow through it to ground changes and the meter deviates, indicating the fuel level.

All Platinum Series meters use Farias' revolutionary corrosion and fog resistant hemispherical glass lenses. These lenses can prevent condensation and prevent scratches and other types of fouling common in marine environments. The working principle of the fuel level gauge is to send a low amperage current to the ground throughthe gauge via a variable resistance sending unit. Transmitter resistance increases or decreases with changes in pressure, temperature, etc. As the resistance of the transmitter changes, the amount of current flowing through it to the ground also changes and the meter deflects to display the fuel level.
