Autopilot Pump, 12 V DC, 1.7 cubic inches per second (for ram sizes from 14 cubic inches to 25 cubic inches volume)

The PUMPHRP17-12 is a set of reversing pumps designed to interface with the NavPilot series autopilot. with a hydraulic steering system. The pump assembly includes a reversible gerotor gear pump, a two-piece gear housed in an eccentric ring. This allows for incredibly quiet, reliable and precise operation.

A hydraulic steering system consists of a hydraulic actuator and one or more steering wheel pumps, or tiller pumps. When the steering wheel (helm pump) is turned to port, hydraulic oil is pumped into the port hydraulic steering line. This oil is directed to the port side of the steering cylinder. When the cylinder moves to port, oil from the starboard side of the cylinder returns to the helm pump via the hydraulic lines.starboard ues.

One end of the cylinder is fixed and the other is connected to a steering arm, which is connected to a rudder shaft. With this connection to the helm arm, the linear movement of the ram to port is replaced by a rotary movement, which turns the rudder and steers the vessel to port. Moving the steering wheel to starboard produces the same reaction, with oil being pumped out of the starboard line and back through the port line.

If more than one bar pump is used, a return/fill line must be installed to connect the housings of all bar pumps together.

The output flow of the pump set determines the speed of the steering cylinder. The PUMPHRP17-12 produces 1.6 cu. in. of oil per second and requires 12V DC input.

PUMPHRP17-12 is a reversible pump unit designed to connect NavPilot series autopilots to hydraulic steering systems. The pump assembly includes a reversible gear pump, which is a two-piece gear mounted in an eccentric ring. This allows for extremely quiet, reliable and precise operation. The hydraulic steering system consists of a hydraulic actuator and one or more steering wheel pumps or steering pumps. As the steering wheel (helm pump) turns toward port, hydraulic oil is pumped into the port hydraulic steering line. The hOil is introduced into the intake port side of the steering cylinder. When the cylinder moves to the left, oil from the starboard side of the cylinder returns to the rudder pump via the starboard hydraulic line. One end of the cylinder is fixed, the other end is connected to the tiller, which is connected to the rudder shaft. Through the connection with the tiller, the linear movement of the cylinder towards the port becomes a rotational movement, which will turn the rudder and turn the ship towards the port. Moving the steering wheel to starboard will produce the same reaction, oil will be drawn in through the starboard line and returned through the port line. If multiple helmet pumps are used, a return/fill line must be installed to connect the housings of all helmet pumps together. The output flow of the pump set determines the rotation speed of the steering cylinder. PUMPHRP17-12 produces 1.6 cubic meters. The pressure of huile is .. per second and requires a 12 V DC input.
