The GM1600 Marine VHF handheld computer is designed for GMDSS compliant survival craft communications. The radio is designed to survive and operate in the extreme environmental conditions common in maritime emergencies and brings the latest search and rescue technology to the market. The GM1600's impact-resistant housing is constructed from a vibrantly colored dye-injected polymer ensuring this essential emergency equipment will always be easy to find in a survival bag, life raft, or anywhere else where you need to find ituve quickly. .

The GM1600 meets the requirements for resistance to temperature, thermal shock, vibrations and falls (from 1 m height). After passing these environmental tests, the GM1600 supports waterproof construction to 1 m depth specified by IMO resolutions A.809(19), A.694(17) and IEC 61097-12. The BP-234 battery can operate even at —4 F.

All buttons are sized for quick operation and the large, well-labeled buttons feature a positive action "feel" with a programmable beep sound for safe operation. The front panel includes one-touch access to channel 16 and the call channel.
