The new routing module now combines its revolutionary algorithm allowing you to calculate the optimal sailing route based on weather forecasts, currents, your yacht's polars and your own sailing style, with the powerful features of the former advanced routing module to create a single product.

The new Routing module offers precision and flexibility for the most demanding navigation conditions demanding, thus facilitating route calculation by software. It allows advanced sailors to manually control and adjust weather file parameters to obtain more accurate results. It also introducesnt the notion of variability, helping the skipper to identify particular moments of navigation where strategic choices are critical.

Functionalities of the routing module:

Waves are used for route calculation with wind and currents
One-click comparison between multiple routes and animations to evaluate multiple scenarios
Option to pass a waypoint, leaving it to port or starboard while calculating a multi-waypoint route

Its use is more intuitive and user-friendly for boaters, while offering multiple options for setting for experienced sailors

Routing calculation and display of variability
After creating a routing you can display the variability on the map. The value ofe variability makes it possible to quickly identify significant variations in wind direction and strength which require additional expertise from the skipper in his forecasts, routing and sourcing files.

Variability is equal to 100% if the wind direction and force are stable
This will allow it to decrease to 80% if the routing presents significant variations in wind direction and force. It also indicates the weather transition, for example a crest with a decreasing pressure gradient and therefore wind gradient

The variability is symbolized in the Routing tree by a higher display density. or less strong (as shown in the image above).

Areas colored black indicate weather transitions. A very dense black corresponds to a variability <70% and it is therefore necessary to go through it as quickly as possible after a more detailed analysis and recalculate a new routing before changing criteria as well.than modifying parameters and source files
The bright areas show the "corridors" where the weather conditions are more stable according to the forecasts

The ability to overlay both Variability and Sailset allows you to clearly visualize each transition in different ways (like a peak) through the routing. The Variability value is indicated in each line of the Routing Center which corresponds to an hourly period of the weather routing.

Adjusting the weather file
It is possible to adjust the wind forecast data values, in order, for example, to take into account the times or the direction or speed of the wind that has prevailed in the area for several days.

Increase or decrease wind speed (%): move the slider along the slider bar to change to increase or decrease the percentage
Increase or decrease the speedwind (value): enter a value directly
Change weather File time: enter a specific time HH:MM
