The PVC jacket allows the 14 AWG duplex boat cable to be flexible while preventing moisture from building up. How does it do that? During the extrusion process, the spaces between the wires are filled. This leaves no room for moisture or air to build up. After that, a layer of talcum powder is applied to the inner threads.
